The workshop was conducted by Dr. Mohammad Ali Moni from University of Sydney, which included all basic aspects of biological sequence analysis. It was an ideal opportunity to get familiar with bioinformatics and its many faces! It covered how one should be able to start to deal with any basic bioinformatics problem, how and where to get relevant information about gene and required sequence data, how to use the sequences and how basic software (eg. R) and algorithms work so that one can finely tune it in order to get the maximum output of the analysis.
